If only life had a Backspace button.
This morning, on my way to work, I marveled and was/am so thankful for new days … second chances … and do-overs! One good friend I mentioned this too expressed their wish for an ability to have a backspace key, in terms of life. That got me thinking of a common theme in the Bible … Restoration. So as I looked for a specific verse in relation to this topic, I found ample verses to indicate that we are not stuck in our mess. We are not without hope. We do in fact have a “backspace key” of sorts. Regardless of the story we ourselves have written, or are a part of, those lines of our story can be rewritten. Our story can be restored.
History Channel’s American Restoration
There is hope. The History Channel has a show I like to watch when I can catch it. It is called American Restoration. On the show, Rick and his crew take some of the oldest and most worn out pieces of antiquity and restore them to their prime. Things like old pickups, Coke machines, antique signs, tractors, tricycles, etc. It is a lot of fun to watch the transformation from junk to treasure. Regardless of where you find yourself, your marriage, your financial position, your spiritual bearing, your lifestyle, or whatever, if you wish you had a backspace button or a free “do-over,” I’m here today to let you know … there is hope. Below are a few words and thoughts that I hope are encouraging to you.
